VIDEO: Davido, HKN Gang On Their 1st Ever Canadian Tour

Over the weekend, Davido, Shina Rambo and B-Red, also known as the HKN Gang, hit up Canada for a brief tour. Here’s footage from the stops.

eLDee kicks off his Undeniable Tour in Accra on the 5th Of May at the dome Conference centre, Accra. He will be performing on stage alongside some of the best musical acts in West africa including Wizkid, Sarkodie, Dr Sid, R2Bees, Sheyman Tiffany and many more.

VIP Begins US Tour March 17

Award-winning Ghanaian music group, VIP, made up of Promzy, Lazzy and Prodigal, is set to take off this month with its tour of the United State of America dubbed ‘Vision Tour’.

The group announced the tour early this year and said 2012 would be another year of breakthroughs. The tour is expected to catapult their career to new horizons and endear them to their fans in that part of the world.

It will be the biggest tour of the group’s musical career so far and it is scheduled to take off this month and run till June.

The group will be in cities such as New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland, Texas, Maryland, Boston and more.

The tour will however be climaxed in Ghana with shows across the country. There will be performance in the US and a screening of documentaries of the group and how hiplife started with them, as well as their contribution to the music genre’s growth in Ghana.

Most of the screenings, which is aimed at educating the world about hiplife, will be done in colleges.

VIP will be on the tour with a tall list of artistes yet to be confirmed but currently it is clear that sexy singer Tiffany and music group Fruit of Inspiration (FOI) will be on the tour.

The group is currently Ghana Music Awards’ reigning artistes of the year and has given its blessings to the artistes who have been nominated for the category in the upcoming music awards.

Artistes in the category are Becca, Okyeame Kwame, Sarkodie, Efya, R2bees, 4×4 and Kwaw Kese.

Currently, the group’s single, ‘Which Kind Yawa Be Dis’, featuring Sarkodie, is hitting the airwaves. Its latest album is also almost done

D-Black Kicks Off Hiphop SHS Tour on March 3rd

Ghanaian hip hop music hit international standards and blew up locally when this young man came on the scene in late 2008. Starting off as a duo with Kwaku-t with their singles Move and Breathe off their mixtape album ‘Target Practice’ 3 years ago. Starting off rapping in the English language only and pursuing a degree in BFA Theatre Arts (Directing) and Music at the University of Ghana, Legon at the same time, the journey begun for D-Black years ago but little did we know the young man had only just started.

2010 saw the young mc and entrepreneur D-Black go solo and win numerous awards and nominations off his debut solo ‘Music, Love & Life’ album. From holding the Ghanaian hip hop flag high up at the 2009, 2010 & 2011 Channel O Awards nominated for Best Hip hop video of the Year, African Video of the year, Best West African Video to winning the Ghana Music Awards first ever Hip hop song of the year award with his 2011 hit joint ‘Get on the dancefloor’ at the last Ghana Music Awards festival to being nominated at the 2011 BET Awards in the United States of America for Best African Act plus over 26 other award nominations and wins.

Hands down Ghana’s most successful hip hop act, his just ended ‘Yes Boss Tour’ took him round the entire country and saw him sell out stadia and auditoriums in all 10 regions of Ghana. Making history as headlining the first ever Ghanaian hip hop tour successfully he’s now armed with hit songs stemming from his three year career from Breathe & Move, Somebody ft. Kwabena Kwabena, Get on da dancefloor, Ma Me Five, Asabone, the club banger ‘My Kinda Girl’ ft. Sarkodie to his new singles ‘Change Your Life’ ft. E.L & ‘Falling’ ft. Nigeria’s ‘Mo'Cheddah’, the multiple award winning D-Black once again hits the road on his second tour, this time dubbed the ‘D-Black Live in SHS Tour’.

Kicking off on Saturday 3rd March D-Black is set to electrify the stages in 5 regions, 5 cities, 5 High schools hip hop style under the theme of Drug Abuse Awareness.

Aimed at reaching the masses under the age of 21, D-Black, his Black Avenue Muzik team and NK Studios send a very simple message across to the youth on this tour saying ‘No matter your profession, gender or background, creativity and acceptance should never be influenced by drugs’.

Ghana’s hip hop front man is scheduled to perform in the Western Region, Takoradi (Arch Bishop Porter Girls Sec. School) on March 3rd , in Cape Coast on the 10th of March at the (Aggrey Memorial Secondary School), in the Eastern Region (Akim Oda – Odaso Secondary School) on the 17th of March and hit Kumasi, (St. Loius Senior High School) on the 24th of March and the Volta Region, (Ola Girls Senior High School) on Saturday the 31st of March. All students from sister schools in the various regions are invited to be a part of the ‘D-Black Live in SHS’ experience whenever the team hits your city.

The students will have the opportunity to interact with D-Black via photo shoot and autograph signing sessions as well as be a part of the soon to kick off ‘D-Black ‘My Kinda Girl’ Dance Competition’ running from the 20th of February till the 31st of March and receive also D-Black merchandise as well as ‘Say No To Drugs’ memorabilia.
