Van Vicker debunks Ebola rumours

Producer, film director and radio presenter Van Vicker was hit with false rumors of having contracted the deadly EBOLA virus whiles shooting a movie in Liberia. The false article was said to have been published by Ghanaian entertainment website omgghana.com and later taken down. The originators claiming it to be a hoax, one that didn’t go down to well with the very popular actor Van Vicker. Antoine Mensah went ahead to call him during the drive time program (Route 919) on Live Fm to clear the air on the purposed rumor. Check out the brief interview below;

Uche Jumbo & Van Vicker Detained By Police For Bad Portrayal Of Police Force

Well isn’t this interesting in a nollywood way. Nollywood stars Uche Jumbo & Van Vicker earlier today were detained by Bode Thomas police. They were on set shooting a movie when the arrests were made.

Uche tweeted while at the station “So we are at d bode thomas police station watching this whole * police location drama play out! #iWeepForNigeria”.

Later on it was revealed that they were arrested for the bad portrayal of the Nigerian Police force in their movies. They have been released.

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde Most Challenging Role Yet?

She has been known to push the envelope when it comes to acting and top Nollywood actress - Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is surely not disappointing in this soon to be released flick – Amina where she plays a woman with a mental disorder.

The movie which was shot in London, was written, directed and produced by Christian Ashaiku. Also rendering brilliant performances in this movie are Ghanaian actor Van Vicker, Wil Johnson (Adulthood, In A Better World, Pimp), Vincent Regan (Troy, 300, Clash of the Titans) and Alison Caroll (The Kids, Doghouse, Lara Croft Model)

Amina Story line

Amina is an emotional charged film about loss, love and redemption. It follows the tale of Amina , a British woman (played by Omotola Jalade Ekeinde), who after a series of emotional turbulences, suffers a breakdown and ends up in a mental institution.

It all started with an unplanned pregnancy at 16 which left Amina devastated, bewildered and in disarray. Amina stumbles, falls and rises as a single mother but as more and more tragic incidences become a daily occurrence, her state of mind becomes unstable.

However, with the careful guidance of brilliant psychiatrist (Played by Wil Johnson), Amina ultimately confronts her tormented past.

Van Vicker: I have no beef against Majid

Popular Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has for the first time refuted speculations of a rift with AMAA 2012 Best Actor, Majid Michel.

Van Vicker told Hitz FM he does not have any problem with actor Majid Michel or anyone in the movie industry.

There have speculations of bad blood between the two popular screen faces.

The suspicions are believed to have been engendered by two developments that also happened just about the same time.

Van Vicker was falsely reported to have been arrested by the police in Nigeria on suspicion he was importing unlicensed guns. It turned out the story was not true, and he debunked that in an exclusive interview with Hitz FM. Just about the time, Majid won Best Actor at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, however, the feat did not receive much media blitz as the Vicker arrest story took the limelight.

According to Vicker, he personally acknowledged and congratulated Majid for winning the award, a situation he says would not have been possible if there was indeed a rift between them.

“Honestly if we were on bad terms, I wouldn't want to acknowledge him. I am not sure I would even want to mention that he won the best actor at the awards. We are friends, we are on good terms and I don't have any beef with Majid or anyone in the movie industry.”

Van Vicker said he and Majid are players in the same industry who are striving to be the best they could. He therefore does not see himself trying to bring anybody down. “I think my energy is positive into making sure I get what I want, it doesn't mean I will stand up and bring someone else down. He can excel in his own area and so can I. He has his weaknesses and I have mine, he has his strengths and I have mine as well. We ask for God's blessings so we move forward,” he said.

Van Vicker recently returned from Malawi after a series of projects in that country. He plans a US tour in two weeks to premier his movie.
