EXPOSED: Many Lies Of D’Banj

It is no news that Dapo Oyebanjo, who is well known as D’Banj has parted ways with Don Jazzy. It is also not news that one of the last songs done by the former Mo’hits Records co-owners, Oliver Twist, has found it’s way into some parts of the United Kingdom. But what might be news to many is that contrary to what D’Banj has spurned to the Nigerian public that his Oliver Twist song has topped UK’s top chart is definitely false in totality.

According to our findings, D’Banj’s Oliver Twist song has not made UK’s number one spot on MTV’s official UK Charts list. As at the time of writing this story, his song is still not in UK’s official top 40 songs [MTV UK TOP 40]. Going by what Nigeriafilms.com found out about D’Banj’s claim of getting number spot for Oliver Twist song, it has only at a point made UK’s ‘Shazam’ number spot.

We found out that ‘Shazam‘ is an application which identifies mostly played song, which the Oliver Twist single has enjoyed. In other to make MTV official UK top chart, such a song must rise in the number of downloads and retail sales in the UK. This, D’Banj’s Oliver Twist can attain only if Nigerians or people buy the song by digital downloads. D’Banj has also reportedly claimed that his song is the talk of UK, which some sources in the UK claimed is one of the biggest lies ever told. We gathered that D’Banj is relatively unknown in the UK. Some claimed that his Mercury/G.O.O.D Music deals are still controversial.

They told Nigeriafilms.com that contrary to what D’Banj is telling his fans in Nigeria about the success his Oliver Twist song has made, the Oliver Twist single has not achieved such successes. They claim D’Banj is passing the wrong information to the Nigerian public.

According to some who spoke to Nigeriafilms.com under anonymity, they claim D’Banj might be doing these false hypes about Oliver Twist to make Don Jazzy and Nigerians feel he is doing well without Don Jazzy. Some sources also claim that D’Banj might have forced his way into getting his song played by some top UK DJs in the local way. There are other revelations about Oliver Twist in our care but would dish them out later.
