50 Models Ready For Fashion Night Out Ghana – May 19


The much anticipated Fashion Night Out Ghana event will take place at the Coconut Groove Hotel in Accra on May 19. Currently, the show is carefully being planned to raise the standard in Ghana’s fashion industry. The event will house a large number of top African designers who will be storming Accra this month. Some African models will also hit the runway.

Organizers, West Coast Entertainment, announced that plans were afoot for the show. It said over 50 models would be partaking in the event. There will be 19 designers from Ghana and other African countries to showcase their stunning creativity to the entire world. The event is being organised by West Coast Entertainment in collaboration with the Ghana Tourist Board.

Some of the designers expected to be at the show are Allan David, Patrick Asante of House of Eccentrics, Kwab Asamoah of Kustomlooks, Nanna Nilson of Dreams by Nanna, Afri-ken Novelt, Nigeria’s Chris Adim of Ambassador Kouture, and Cameroun’s Afroshic Clothing.

Latest African fashion styles are expected to be displayed on stage. The event is the second of its kind organised by West Coast Entertainment Ghana, organisers of Miss Goldenwood, and a subsidiary of Chibert Group of Companies.

As the countdown begins, everyone is girding their loins to give a great show. Models have been going through rigorous training to display their fierce catwalks at the show.

Miss World, Ivian Sarcos to visit Ghana May 19


This year’s Miss Ghana promises to be one of the most exciting with several thrilling events billed to precede the main programme. One of such events will witness the world’s most beautiful lady, Ivian Sarcos, winner of Miss World 2011 edition visit Ghana from 19 – 23 May. Accompanying Sarcos, who hails from Southern American country of Venezuela, is a full entourage of the Miss World team including the first and second runner ups from the Philippines and Puerto Rico.

Miss World Europe, the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Miss World organization, Julia Morley will also be in attendance. Inna Mariam Patty, CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana – organizers of this year’s Miss Ghana – disclosed this in a media interaction on Monday.

The Miss Ghana 2004 added that the historic visit by the current Miss World forms part of plans by the Miss World organization to support winners of the Beauty with a Purpose award which Stephanie Karikari, Miss Ghana 2011 won at last year’s event. Stephanie Karikari, as part of her project will be constructing a modern day care center at Ayalolo, a suburb of Accra.

To raise funds for her project, a charity ball will be held at the Banquet hall where the Miss Ghana 2012 pageant will also be launched. The Miss World team will pay a courtesy call on the President, John Evans Atta Mills as well as tour selected tourist sites around the country.
