New Music: Felix Duke – Cynthia ft Patoranking

The veteran singer, Felix Duke who has many albums and awards to his credit is here with a new single titled “Cynthia” and this features the incredible raggae ​artiste, Patoranking
Felix Duke released his highly successful debut album “My season” in 1996 which had tracks like “ Wa lare” {come on everybody} which won several awards.

Four years in the studio and three tours of Africa later, Felix released his second album “Mr Goody Goody”which also had tracks like “Baba Baba” Feature 2 face Idibia and Sunny Neji, the success of this album earned him the prestigious FAME music award for the best reggae music of the year in 2000. This confirmed Felix Duke’s status as a serious player on the Africa music scene.

Capitalizing on this acclaim, felix went on to support and headline with some of Nigeria’s greatest musicians and artistes. He has worked with Isaac Black, King Waleman, Uche Ibeto, Stella Monye, Evi- Edna Ogosi, Daddy Showkey, Sunny Neji, Blackky, Raskimono, Lt Shotgun, Daniel Wilson, Charly Boy and many more.

Well known in his native Africa, the name Felix Duke has also spread to Europe. Felix has taken his special sound to the carnivals and concerts in Nuremberg, Munich {Germany}, Tourino, Rome and Naples {Italy} and closed his 2001 Europe tour at London’s Wembley arena.

In 2005 Felix Duke went round the same countries he played in 2001, and it was a great success.

Felix was so won over by the vibe of the UK’s capital that he decided to make his home there. The Nigerian Diaspora welcomes him with open arms by asking him to play at the Miss Nigeria UK competition held at the Hackney Empire.

2005, Felix Duke relocated back to Nigeria and released another hit album “Joanna” In 2006 Joanna was so successful that the album gave him several awards both in Nigeria and abroad.

Felix Duke who not too long ago came back from tour in New York , Maryland, Atlanta, DC, Dallas all in the {United State of America} in May 2012, is out again with a brand new single titled Cynthia along with Patoranking and 100 Degrees.

Airtel Trace Music Stars set to redefine the music competition sphere

Airtel Ghana’s incursion into the music industry through the Airtel Trace Music Star competition is not only innovative and creative, but is also designed to offer a bigger opportunity and platform for the thousands of Ghanaian youth who crave for a chance to hit the big stages but are unable to. Airtel Trace Music Stars is a music talent search competition run in collaboration with Trace TV and is designed to recognize talented young people who are musically convincing in a wide range of repertoire. The contest aims at giving the nation’s hopefuls a real opportunity to come through the ranks as budding artists of any genre or style.

Brand Assets Manager of Airtel Ghana, Kwame Gyan explains that, “unlike other traditional types of music competitions, Airtel Trace Music Stars does not go through the regular auditioning and screening processes which often will result with potential stars traveling across towns to a single location to be auditioned. With Airtel Trace Music Stars, all potential stars need to do is to call 533 on their Airtel phones to stand a chance to be discovered, and they can call as many times they want as well. No long things”, he said.

He added that, existing Airtel customers, including ported lines and new customers on the Airtel network can take part in Airtel Trace Music Stars by calling 533 between the 7th of October 2014 and 10th December 2014. “We are looking for the first Airtel Trace Music Star and so as a result, we accept only individual entries, and people can sing in any language of their choice, and in whatever genre they want; callers can also use instruments but they must sing and only the singing will be considered”, Kwame Gyan said.

Airtel’s Brand Assets Manager explains further that, “when you call 533, you follow the voice prompts and choose either the karaoke service or the competition; after one has finished singing within a 15 second to 3 minute window, a text is sent to the caller confirming that the song has been received and is being moderated; within 24 hours another text is sent confirming that the entry has been successfully moderated, with a password and an opportunity to listen to the song on www.tracemusicstar.com and share the entry among friends so they vote for them, “ he said.

Kwame Gyan adds that between December 10 and 17, the best 5 entries will be judged based on a combination of singing skills (quality, pitch, originality, tone, range) and number of votes received. “These top 5 will be recorded for television and at a televised show, we will find Ghana’s first Airtel Trace Music Star. “The winner from Ghana will then take part in the Pan African Airtel Trace Music Star competition involving 13 other countries at the end of February”, Kwame Gyan added.

BBA Hotshots: First kiss, first scandal

It only takes a little alcohol to bring out loads of personality. Whether authentic or not is neither here nor there but there is nothing quite like the affect that alcohol had on housemates behaviour after the party.

The new love-birds Mira and Luis JOINED their fellow love compatriots Nhlanhla and Sheillah to cool down after that work out on the dance floor. But under the influence the couples quickly turned into the awesome foursome, replete with enough scandal to raise the blood sugar levels.

It all STARTED when the frolicsome Mira saddled her beau as they locked lips in full view of the couple on the other side of the road. Luis couldn't have been more chuffed while Nhlanhla and Sheillah stroked and held each other closer.

When Luis disappeared for a moment Mira sauntered over to the couple, whispered “I've always wanted to kiss you” and laid a sensual kiss on her 'scheme' Nhlanhla. The two enjoyed the steamy moment with Sheillah looking on.

The game was on from here on. 

It wasn't long before Luis smelled a rat and his high plummeted. You'll remember he shared a personal experience of being jilted by a girl, so how could this be happening to him again?

The couples entered into a tricky dynamic after that with Luis rebuffing Mira who tried to salvage her friendship with Sheillah who we reckon was falling for Nhlanhla as much as the lady doth protest.

We reckon still waters were running deep with 'scheme' mates Mira and Nhlanhla. Could theirs be a subliminal attraction?

We were not ready for just the volume of shenanigans that ensued when the housemates, steeped under the influence, tore away from their steamy session on the dance floor at the Channel O party. Probably more suitably referred to as truth serum, alcohol certainly took a hold the housemates.

This was only the tip of the iceberg as other housemates were also getting remarkably frisky after that party.
