Yvonne Nelson Stages Comes Back Movie ‘ Single & Married’ With Chris Attoh,Efya,Nadia

Actress Yvonne Nelson is staging a comeback this month in a role with ladies’ man Chris Attoh and a host of others in an upcoming movie titled ‘Single & Married’ by Media GH. The two are working together for the first time and reports from the movie’s set over the weekend assured Ghanaian movie enthusiasts to brace up for a thrilling experience when the movie finally hits the big screens.

Pictures from the set are interesting, with one capturing Yvonne and Chris in a wedding scene. Anita Erskine and songstresses Efya and Tiffany are some of the stars on the set and sources say there is a more interesting cast list to be made public soon. Nadia Buari is also on the set of the movie.

A-list actresses Nadia and Yvonne last starred together in 2009 when they appeared in ‘Heart of Men’. It’s being four years since then and their new movie is expected to clear the air on rumours that they don’t see eye to eye. Some interesting things are happening on set as reports say Chris Attoh has good chemistry with Efya and the two were in some sizzling kissing scenes which amazed director Pascal Amanfo.

Last week, NEWS-ONE broke the news that Efya and Anita Erskine were joining the movie industry. Efya’s decision interestingly raised a lot of arguments, with some people in support of her move and others against it. Signals from the set indicate that she is doing well.

Tiffany, who just released a new single ‘Akye Wo’, is the latest to join the cast. The movie’s story has been described as captivating and an everyday story that the ordinary African can relate to. It will be told in a narrative form, with Anita Erskine as the narrator while Yvonne, Nadia and Chris play the lead. Anita is reportedly ‘killing’ her role with her celebrated eloquence while Chris appears to be taking his bad boy role to the next level.

Yvonne and Nadia’s roles are a bit relaxed in this movie while Efya and Chris’ “shake the levels”, according to the source. Apart from photos of Yvonne and Chris in the wedding scene, there were group photos from the set.

Efya, Anita Erskine To Star In Movie Alongside Chris Attoh,Nadia Buari,Yvonne Nelson

In what appears to be a strategy to save movie fans from getting bored, new faces from the showbiz world are gradually finding their way into Ghana’s movie industry. News-One sources say latest to join the league of actresses is Afro-Eclectic African soul singer Efya Awindor, and one time Ghanaian presenter of Dstv Studio 53, Anita Arskine.

The two women have received scripts for an upcoming movie by Media GH. They will be playing major roles alongside top acts Chris Attoh, Nadia Buari, Kofi Adjorlolo, and Yvonne Nelson among others from Nigeria and some fresh new faces movie fans would definitely love to see on the screens.

Definitely the movie will be a new page in Efya’s young entertainment career. She is described as a legendary singer in the making. World-class South African musician Hug Masekela compared Efya’s style of singing to Fela Kuti.

“…but she was fantastic; the things she did were like medieval and artistes like that need a medieval setting. See artiste like Efya needs her own club, the way Fela had the shrine. You know but she needs her own place where she can do this stuff,” he stated.

She was phenomenal last year on the music scene and hopes are that movies fans would like her acting output when the movie is finally done.

Sarkodie,Efya,D Cryme and Smirnoff brings New York to Ghana in a party of a lifetime

The hundreds who thronged the foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre Friday night for the Smirnoff One Night in NYC party will attest to the fact that it was a party like no other- a unique party where patrons were treated to an unforgettable flight experience to the world’s famous New York City and a feast on top of its Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden at the same time.

This Smirnoff experience had on its menu, a wide array of Smirnoff’s Vodaka cocktails mixed with good music from Africa and Ghana’s number one DJ, DJ Black.

DJ Black was in his elements dishing out a mixed bag of exciting tunes from both the local and international scenes and yes, every inch of space at the venue was taken by countless number of legs.

Some of Ghana’s top brass showbiz personalities really had a go! Shirley Frimpong-Manso, Jocelyn Dumas, Bola Ray, Ekow Smith Asante, Sammy B, Pascaline Edwards, and a host of others could be seen dancing the night away. Well nobody expected the night’s drink ups and chops to last the distance, and compensating for that were performances from three of the country’s biggest acts.

Sarkodie, Artiste of the Year for 2012; 2012 Hiplife Song of the Year winner D-Cryme and 2012 Female Vocal Artiste of the Year, Efya brought the party home. It was D-Cryme who stepped up to the mic first and after performing songs including his hit single Kill Me Shy, Efya was next to thrill withNothing, Sexy Sassy Wahala, and her hot single, Best In Me.

Sarkodie’s entry drew the usual loud cheers from an elated audience and he set sail with his collaboration with Efya I’m In Love With You. Tagged Ghana’s fastest rapper, he also performed Onyame Nhyira and the almighty You Go Kill Me. The Smirnoff One Night in NYC ended during the wee hours of Saturday with patrons wearing bright smiles as they left the venue

Efya - I smoke cigarettes and that is my own Business

Ghana’s representative at channel o’s selection of popular African stars to remember Whitney Houston, Efya has come out again to debunk the assertion that she indulge in drugs. Vertran songstress, Akosua Agyapong has been slated in some quarters for poking her nose into the Business of Efya saying that the latter should quit smoking. And it seem Efya herself has a thing or two to tell the former NAKOREX member. “Ive made it clear time and time again that I dont do drugs, but I smoke ciggarette and that is my own business.

Akosua Agyapong says she cares and believes she(Efya) is her sweethearts and that as a parent and a heavyweight in the music industry, she won’t sit idle for the talented Efya to waste her talent. It will be recalled that Akosua publicly expressed her disappointment at Efya’s Ciggarrete smoking confession on radio, saying that as a role model for kids, Efya should’t have made that declaration publicly. A source close Efya told hello!GH: “I think Akosua Agyapong has gone too far with this issue, the girl is over 18 and knows what she is about so if truly Akosua Agyapong wants to play her mum then the best thing she could have done was to have called her.”

Well no body can doubt efya’s Tallent would this latest Brouhaha on her cigarrete smoking dint her image? only time will tell…….

Efya 1 PREMIERE: EFYA Best In Me
Ghanaian soulstress, EFYA, knows exactly how to use her voice! I’ve been a fan of her music for quite sometime so it’s great news to know that she’s currently stationed in Lagos. This song is being premiered on Rhythm 93.7 Fm as I type this post. Perfect Valentine’s Day song, if you ask me. I love it!
