Mavin Records Is Not A New Label Its Mo’Hits Re-branded!

When D’banj, former co-owner of the now defunct Mo’Hits Record label revealed the shocker that it was Don Jazzy who wanted the break-up, and also revealed he had signed over all his shares in Mo’Hits to Don Jazzy, making Don Jazzy the Owner and CEO of Mo’Hits, many people found it unbelievable. We all waited to hear Don Jazzy’s side of the story but he has refused to address the key issues raised by D’banj.
However Don Jazzy has been speaking to the press in bits, and in a recent interview with Saturday Punch, He confirmed that he now owned Mo’Hits, which is now Mavin records being reported as a new label. when asked if his new label Mavin Records was as a result of the break-up, he said;

“I did not think I was going to change the name of MY company for any reason. A month before we launched, I thought companies go through re-branding for many reasons. I am supposed to be the Chief Executive Officer of Mo’Hits Records and I own it 100 per cent now.

What I did was to just go for a name change. I won’t be the first to do so. Although Mo’Hits is a name everybody has come to love and accept, they will love Mavin also.”

The above statement say’s it all, Mo’Hits Records is now Mavin Records, the only diffrence being the exit of D’banj and brother K-Switch, and the signing of Tiwa Savage. Many may not have noticed that Don Jazzy has consciously or unconsciously been confirming all that D’banj had said. In the same inteview when asked if he indeed asked for the separation, he replied;

“We were working together and all was going on well. It got to a point where ’I’ looked at the situation and we both decided that is was not working and we had to move on.”

Do we really need to hear more before to confirm all that D’banj has said? Well the truth they say has no hiding place!
