SENSATIONAL afro-pop singer, Salamatu Yakubu aka Sala, last Saturday became the toast of hundreds of Ghanaian music fans when she put up a splendid performance at TV3’s Music Music show. She performed three of her hit songs, which got patrons dancing all through her performance.
The event, dubbed ‘Divas show’, also witnessed performances from female stars such as Mzbel and Diamond, among others.A section of music fans were initially too shy or overwhelmed by Sala’s charming personality to get on their feet to dance; some wiggled in their seats almost to the chagrin of the beautiful performer.
Indeed, music lovers were more than satisfied and were willing to share the joy with Sala as they kept calling her to try and organize her own concert.Sala’s performance attracted a standing ovation as the mesmerised crowd jumped to their feet and simply asked for more, especially when she began performing one her favourite afro pop songs, ‘Kasa Low’.
She was consistent and controlled the audience. She also delighted the audience with her music, which is basically a combination of afro-pop rhythms and other danceable hip hop tunes.
She was unsurpassable as she was able to thrill music fans to their satisfaction. She took everybody by surprise and the whole auditorium hailed her. Her attitude on stage was also extremely good.
She demonstrated her stage craft, singing and dancing skills, which left no doubt that she is truly a force to reckon with in the global music scene.Sala, who looked determined to win glory internationally, promised a journey of no return, adding that her unique style and the zeal to achieve will get her there.
She told BEATWAVES after the show: “I am bringing nothing but the best of music. I want to make sure I break boundaries. I am going to set a record”.
The beautiful and sexy young artiste disclosed that she embraced her musical talent at a very tender age and had never looked back, adding that based on her creativity and stage craft, she was poached by Paradise Entertainment, a record label known for building talented music icons into international brands and is credited for fighting piracy in the Ghanaian music industry.
