Meet Sakatoa new face in hip life

Hip life welcomes the new budding rap talent ‘Sokatoa’ known in real life as Abubakar Anis – Manas who is out with his debut single ‘Gbelemo’ which features the hi-life sensation D-flex of eastern World entertainment. Sokatoa in a long interview with 18newspaper disclosed:

‘I just didn’t get up to do music, I took my time to study the craft, as a full graduate from Accra Polytechnic at least I understand the blue prints of the game am in now.’

He mentioned: ‘Sokatoa because as young guys growing up the best subject I admired was mathematics hence I was named after the popular mathematics formula Sokatoa and that has been with me till now. The rapper from the ghettos of Darkuman, talking about his career, said, he is almost done with the first debut album titled ‘fire in the hole’ and it has great artistes on it.

‘I worked with the ever good guys from Nima, Mohammed, MOB, D-flex, Promzy (VIP), KK Fosu, Iwan, just to mention a few plus some magical hands on the beat hence this album simply establishes the fact that some Hip life musicians are confused in the game.

18newspaper asked why Sokatoa is using his debut album to establish the fact that some Hip life artistes are confused, this was his answer.

‘the reason is simple, we are trying to neglect our culture, most of the artiste try to speak someone’s else’s language in their songs hence the ‘the fire in the hole’ album will take them through the culture of our rich country Ghana with a correct blend of local dialects and pigen.

Currently Sokatoa is promoting ‘Gbelemo’ single and the responses from Plus 89.9fm, Oxyfm, great fm, among other online downloading sites such as Bigxgh.com, Ghanamotion.com, 18newspaper.com are awesome, meaning the message is getting down well among people.

In his ending statement with 18newspaper, Sokatoa said the Gbelemo has a video on youtube, some television stations plus online sites, the current song is doing well and he hopes Ghanaians will understand his message, but he wanted Ghanaians to note that he is here to battle any musician. He thanked all the artistes who featured on his songs, beat makers, Djs for the air play, his team, friends and fans, keep pushing Hip life music.
